Polish Video Games — Learn the Language with Pleasure!

Learning a language is possible anytime and anywhere — video games offer a perfect opportunity to expand your vocabulary, improve listening skills, and have lots of fun at the same time. Polish games have gained worldwide recognition, both for their storytelling and technical quality. Here’s our list of titles that will not only provide you with fantastic entertainment but also help you learn Polish!

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”
This hit hardly needs an introduction. CD Projekt RED created a phenomenal adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s famous series of novels. In the third installment of Geralt of Rivia’s adventures, players face numerous storylines, explore a vast world, and encounter countless characters.
Dynamic action smoothly blends with a fascinating plot and unexpected twists, while the game world draws you in from the very first moments. “The Witcher 3” is a true treasure trove of language — from dialogues rich in archaisms and regionalisms to item descriptions and bestiary entries. For Polish learners, it’s a fantastic chance to immerse themselves in a linguistically rich fantasy universe.

“Cyberpunk 2077”
This is another major title from CD Projekt RED. This time, the action takes us into a massive futuristic metropolis — Night City. The city struggles with serious social problems and is slowly sinking into the chaos of crime.
Masterful dialogues, a gripping storyline, and stunning graphics guarantee unforgettable entertainment for dozens of hours. The language used in the game is contemporary, dynamic, and filled with slang, making it an excellent opportunity to get familiar with everyday Polish in a realistic context.

“The Vanishing of Ethan Carter”
This is undoubtedly the best Polish adventure game. You play as Paul Prospero, a detective with paranormal abilities, who arrives at the deserted Red Creek Valley to solve the mystery of a missing boy.
The game offers an open world full of puzzles, immersed in a mysterious atmosphere reminiscent of H. P. Lovecraft’s prose. The texts in the game are rich in poetic descriptions, and the dialogues are precise and profound. It’s a perfect choice for those looking to expand their vocabulary with more literary expressions.

“The Prince and the Coward”
The two-dimensional, animated graphics immediately transport us into a magical fairy-tale world, where, by a strange twist of fate, the title prince and coward switch bodies. The game combines elements of classic adventure games with humor and fast-paced action.
The dialogues are light-hearted, full of humor and cultural references, making it easy to remember new words and phrases. For beginners, it’s an ideal opportunity to get comfortable with everyday Polish in an accessible form.

That’s it for our video game recommendations. However, if you’re still craving more, let us know or try to find something on your own. And if anyone ever tells you that gaming is a waste of time — just tell them you’re learning Polish!
